Iota Alpha Hosts Inaugural Sexual Harassment Awareness Seminar at the University of Texas at Arlington

T he Brothers of the Iota Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. hosted a Sexual Harassment Awareness Semi- nar on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). The seminar helped educate UTA stu- dents on the proper protocols of dating: • How to get consent for sexual intercourse • How to say “No” for sexual inter- course • Recognizing the signs of “No,” and reacting to the signs in an appropriate manner. • The rules of Title IX • The university’s guidelines and procedures on sexual assault This was the first sexual harassment awareness seminar held by a fraternity or sorority on the campus of UTA. There
were more than 40 University students in attendance. The guest speakers for the seminar were: UTA Campus Coun- selors, Jessica Sanchez, and Michelle Williams.
