Williams said Iota’s inactivity tenure was the result of insufficient number of Black students enrolled at the University to drive interest, dwindling numbers of active brothers on campus for prolonged periods along with some anti-fraternity policies enacted on the campus. Williams’ personal assessment of the accomplishment was summed up in one word: achievement. About Williams –Brother Williams was
his professional career, Williams, 52, worked in the airlines industry in areas of ground operations, training, customer service policy and procedures and infor- mation technology. He currently works as an IT analyst at United Airlines. Williams is currently a member of Chi- cago (IL) Alumni Chapter since 2011 where he served as Membership Chair- man and currently serves as appointed chairman of the Chapter Invisible committee which is ad hoc committee that has assisted and supported IHQ with updating the fraternity’s member- ship records specifically when a brother transitions to Chapter Invisible. At the 84th Grand Chapter Meeting, Brother Williams will receive the Wil- liam L. Crump History Award for his research and Journal article on the his- tory of the Iota Chapter.
