Purpose Under the Leadership of Thomas L. Battles, Jr., the Southwestern Province continuously supported the initiatives of the 33rd Administration of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Thriving under the theme of “Rebirth, Reclaim, Recommit by Leaving No Brother Behind”, the Southwestern Province embraced and implemented the vision and Six Point Plan of the 33rd Administration of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. as we continuously thrive while blazing a trail in Second Century Kappa. coveted Undergraduate Leadership Institute program for undergraduate members 2. To support Kappa Kamp at Paul W. Quinn College in Dallas, Texas 3. To continue supporting the Piney Woods School helping young boys become men 4. To support Healthy Kappas, Healthy Communities Initiative to highlight health & wellness measures 5. To further conduct C. Rodger Wilson Leadership conferences and train for leadership 6. To successfully execute the Province Council in order to enhance communication amongst Province membership 7. To provide effective and efficient training for chapter advisors as well as increase membership 8. To continuously support the Na- tional Guide Right Program along with the Undergraduate Development 9. To continue the support of the Fraternity’s National Founders’ Day Observances To support the Achievement Academy & continue supporting Community Service & Rec- lamation throughout the Province. Objectives 1. To continue supporting the

ternity’s Membership Training Academy Program, the Southwestern Province initiated 303 new brothers in Spring 2016, 80 new brothers in Fall 2016, and 435 new brothers in Spring 2017 into our Noble Bond 8. During the 81 st Southwestern Province Council, brothers raised $2,000 during the Closed Banquet for the Kappa Foundation 9. Learn to Live was successfully implemented in various schools and communities in the State of Texas and Arkansas as well as other State /locali- ties in the Southwestern Province. 10. The Southwestern Province raised well over $100,000 in support of St. Jude Children Research Hospital during the Sunday of Hope Campaign to date 11. The Southwestern Province supports the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture with a $50,000 pledge ($10,000 annually for five years) and continues to support the efforts to reach the national goal of Kappa Alpha Psi 12. Successfully hosted the 81 st Grand Chapter Meeting (Houston, Texas) and the 82 nd Grand Chapter Meeting (New Orleans, Louisiana) Yours in the Bond, Theron A. 10. To continuously support South- western Province Member Training Academy program in compliance wit the rules of Kappa Alpha Psi. Accomplishments 1. Southwestern Province is honored to have seventeen (17) Kappa Fellows from the Eta Klass of the Undergraduate Leadership Institute 2. The Southwestern Province spon- sored more than 60 Kappa Kampers at Paul W. Quinn College in Dallas, Texas at $625 per Kamper from June 9- 21, 2016 while celebrating a milestone of 20 years of Achievement as the host of Kappa Kamp 3. The Healthy Kappas, Healthy Communities Initiative experienced a robust beginning and evaluated seven domains (Mental Health, Hypertension, Diabetes, Cholesterol, HIV/STD, and Oral Health & Cancer) of health and wellness. Over the past two years (2015- 2017), the Healthy Kappas, Healthy Communities Initiative participated in the 79 th , 80 th , 81 st Southwestern Province Coun- cils 4. 1,800 brothers registered for the 80 th and 81 st Southwestern Province Councils held respectively in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Jackson, Missis- sippi 5. Effective communication and training; a) implementation of quarterly teleconference with 111 brothers from the Southwestern Province supported and attended the 2016 & 2017 National Founders' Day Weekend held respec- tively in Mobile, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia 6. Southwestern Province partnered with the Achievement Academy to provide a more comprehensive prepara- tion for Undergraduates transitioning to graduate schools and the work force 7.
