Letter from the Director
Dear Friends and Colleagues: As you may already know, USGBC New Jersey is a statewide organization, covering three regional areas, referred to as Branches (North, Central, and South). Our Branch committees organize and schedule events that reflect the interests of local members. This past year we have enhanced the programing which has reinvigorated the South Branch, and look forward to a very robust series of offerings in 2015. In response to the feedback from a recent member survey, the USGBC NJ South Branch will be holding upcoming networking, education, and advocacy events. Our event in July of 2014, in Mt. Laurel was representative of things to come: the networking din- ner we held with a presentation by senator Donald Norcross is a perfect example as

expressed by our attendees. Upcoming events will similarly feature networking, legislative updates, and green building tours. LEED and sustainability training which offer CEU’s, v4 updates, and exam preparation are also on the horizon. Our next South Branch scheduled event is a Presentation & Networking Dinner with BPU Commis- sioner Fiordaliso & Mitch Carpen, Executive Director of The Energy Resilience Bank . This will take place on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. (Location TBD.) We hope you will join us for a night of networking and socializing with others in green building and advocacy related fields. Commis- sioner Fiordaliso and Executive Director Carpen will discuss the priorities of the Board of Public Utilities, the Energy Resiliency Bank and the impact of BPU policies on South Jersey residents and businesses. We will also be scheduling an event in late winter/ early spring featuring NJ’s Office of Clean Energy and their incentives and rebates. Details will be available in early 2015. If you are interested in supporting the programs in the USGBC NJ South Branch, we are seeking volunteers to join that leadership committee and play an active role in providing quality programs of interest to you and your peers. To join our South Branch Committee, please contact Ade Dosunmu, South Branch Chair at adosunmu@efficco.com and/or Mary Ellen Garrigus at coordinator@usgbcnj.org. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions about USGBC NJ at (973) 290-0013, or executivedirector@usgbcnj.org.
