The community is powered by an 870-acre solar farm and stood strong through Hurricane Ian with almost no damage. “That’s not luck,” Davila notes. “That’s planning.” Greening Local Government FGBC’s local government program is about more than checklists. It’s about change. “We’ve seen departments that never spoke before — fleet, water, energy — come together to form Green Teams,” Davila says. “It reduces redundancy, saves taxpayer money, and builds more resilient cities.” This collaboration is driving innovation.
