“I hope that they feel recharged and re-energized.”
Her vision reaches even younger.
“We’ve got to start reaching out to student’s when they’re young,” Berano says. “We’ve got to make the trades cool.”

She wants girls to encounter construction, skilled trades and LBM before stereotypes have time to tell them those careers are not meant for them. And for the women already standing at the edge of an opportunity, wondering whether they know enough or belong enough, her advice is simple.
“Ask your question. Ask follow-up questions.”

“Education never ends,” she says. “It’s important to take up space, ladies.”
“Stand tall and proud and take up space.”
That may be the most fitting place to begin this book. Because before there can be a summit, a career, a company or a legacy, there has to be room for someone to step forward.
