Women Building the Future V. II | Official Summit Edition

“I think women are extremely well positioned to seize on it because we know that if you want something done, ask a busy woman.” Behind the humor is a challenge to the women still wondering whether they are ready. The companies Loeffler visits did not begin as finished institutions. The family farm that shaped her did not survive five generations because every season was predictable. Small businesses endure because someone is willing to assume the risk of creating something before its success can ever be guaranteed. Looking ahead, Loeffler remains emphatic about what she sees.

Eventually, someone has to decide that preparation has done all it can and movement must begin. Loeffler believes this moment offers unusual opportunity as greater attention returns to domestic manufacturing, American industry and entrepreneurship. “So many good things come out of times of change,” she says. “We’re at an important inflection point of time and change where we’re reversing 50 years of shipping know-how and jobs and industries overseas. We are bringing it back home to America.” And she believes women are particularly well positioned to take hold of what comes next.

THE FUTURE IS INCREDIBLY BRIGHT.

BUILDING WHAT COMES NEXT From Main Street to the jobsite, the future is being built in communities across America.
