Siegwerk Launches Sustainable Procurement Program “SustainUP” Siegwerk, provider of printing inks and coatings for pack- aging applications and labels, has officially launched its Sustainable Procurement Program “SustainUP”. Siegwerk’s Sustainable Procurement Program is de- signed to: • Reduce Scope 3 emissions by 25 percent by 2030, with a long-term goal of achieving net zero by 2050; • Develop suppliers to reduce environmental and hu- man rights risks; and • Promote transparency, dialogue, and continuous im- provement through tailored engagement and collaboration The program also includes supplier training, maturity assessments, and collaborative tools to support progress. As such it brings the established Human Rights Policy & Guiding Principles and Business Partner Code of Conduct into action. It is a key pillar of Siegwerk’s broader Hori- zonNOW sustainability strategy, which integrates climate action, human rights, and circular innovation across the business. L’Oréal Partners With Albéa Tubes For New Cool Silver Range L’Oréal has partnered Albéa Tubes for the packaging of its new Cool Silver range. L’Oréal has selected the (RE)flex sleeve with a 40 mm diameter for its premium high-gloss, metallic finish. Aligned with L’Oréal strong commitments and sustain- ability roadmap, (RE)flex is a RecyClass certified web that can be recycled in the HDPE recycling stream. “This responsible tube packaging is ideal for beauty or personal care applications as it allows many creative decoration options such as flexography, digital, cold stamp and perfectiseam,” said Albéa Tubes, in a statement. American Packaging Corporation Plans Pouching Expansion American Packaging Corporation (APC) has plans for a major expansion to its Story City, Iowa, Center of Excel- lence, housing another investment in pouching capability and capacity. American Packaging expects to break ground in Octo- ber 2025 and complete the expansion by the end of Sep- tember 2026. APC notes that pouches are experiencing growth in the North American flexible packaging market, with a project- ed growth rate of approximately 4.5 percent from 2024 to 2029, according to a Modor Intelligence study. APC’s Story City Center of Excellence offers flexog- raphic printing for its preformed pouches and bags.
