Sport and leadership This elective provides an alternative pathway to VCE Physical Education for the students who enjoy participating in traditional team sports and are interested in fields such as sports coaching and education/teaching. Students in this elective will engage in coaching and leading teams in sports such as netball, basketball, Australian Rules football, soccer etc through a SEPEP model, as well as through assisting with interschool sport. Explore Outdoors This elective aligns with VCE Outdoor and Environmental Education and Health and Human Development and is recommended for students who are interested in fields such as environmental science and horticulture. Students in this elective will engage in outdoor recreational activities such as orienteering and hiking.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about:
• participating in physical activities in local natural resources and built environments • benefits to health and wellbeing of being outdoors and of being active in a natural setting • minimal-impact outdoor recreation in the local area • safety in outdoor environments (e.g. water and bike safety)
