Old Town Square Skate Rink When: Now through Feb. 2 Where: Old Town Square

Ring in the new year on ice! Every weekend, Friday through Sunday, the skate rink opens to the public and all ages are welcome. Hours vary by day (Fridays: 4–7 p.m., Saturdays: 12–6 p.m., Sundays 12–5 p.m.) and admission is $2. If you don’t have your own skates, you can rent them for an additional $1. The Sound of Music When: Thursday, Jan. 10–Saturday, Jan. 12 Where: The Lincoln Center Based on “The Sound of Music Live!” which first aired on NBC in 2013, the popular production has made its way to Fort Collins. Experience the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein on the stage at the Lincoln Center. It’s a great way to spend a wintry evening out on the town! Catch Me if You Can 5K & 10K When: Saturday, Feb. 9 Where: See website for location details

It wouldn’t be the VanMeveren newsletter without a run! If you’ve never heard of the Catch Me if You Can race, well, it’s a little different. Women get a three-minute head start for the 5K and a five-minute head start for the 10K. It’s a game of catch-up with a 5K twist. With all of these races, you can expect live music, food, and drinks at the finish line. Keep in mind, this race is limited to 500 participants.
