ject. We would not urge mission­ ary giving to be cut off in such cases. Conditions of this type may take a little time for necessary ad­ justment in love. Sometimes there are factors about which we could not begin to appreciate or under­ stand. Correspond and communi­ cate with your missionaries if you feel some problem exists. You can rely on the wisdom and dedica­ tion of those who are on the scene. In one case of which we have heard, a situation like this did occur. In that particular country, the wives who were put away would literally be ostracized from the community completely. The convert was encouraged to live with just the one woman although it was necessary for him to provide as well for the other wives. Q. Nampa, Idaho. "What does it mean in II Peter 1:19, 'and the day star arise in your hearts'?" A. This is an oft quoted and very precious portion used many times in prophetic conferences. The dark­ er the days get, the more full of tension and difficult the situations, the more we should cling to the "more sure word" of God's truth. This darkness is not going to last forever for the believer. The "day is going to dawn." This is the day of Christ or the Rapture as we know it. The Lord Jesus Christ shall come for us Himself. The shadows shall flee away and all darkness will be light forever. The "day star" is meant to be a figure sym­ bolizing our blessed Saviour. He becomes the full light of the eter­ nal day. This will herald the end of man's full sway on the earth. Al­ though there will be the Tribula­ tion, God will be taking over. He is the One who will be doing the Page 25

The consensus of missionary opinion of those with whom we have worked would be to encour­ age only a marriage relationship with one wife. This is scriptural, despite the culture that may be in­ volved. Frequently we have heard testimonies that when one of these men comes to Christ, he knows almost instinctively he should not have other wives. They in turn ask the missionary what should be done.
