were their taskmasters. Finally the Lord raises up a man named Moses who becomes the instrument of leading the chosen people out of the land of Egypt. Moses' training had been varied and thorough. It began in the humble Hebrew home of his par­ ents. People really do not know how old he was when he was found in the little basket amid the bullrushes. He had certainly stayed in his parent's home long enough to learn truths of Jehovah. Satan Attacks the Lord Jesus One of the outstanding purposes of God was the bringing of Jesus Christ, His Son, into the world. The Saviour was to be virgin born, liv­ ing a sinless and impeccable life so that He might provide our redemp­ tion by dying on Calvary's cross. This was the promise made to man from the beginning, and recorded in Genesis 3:15. The devil is con­ stantly arrayed against the pur­ poses of God. In Exodus 16 we see how Satan attacks the entire nation of Israel. God had heard the pitiful cries of His people for deliverance. They had been reduced to abject pov­ erty through slavery.
