Harrell's Granular Fertilizer Guide

Building a bag of fertilizer, especially for a custom blend, involves carefully selecting, measuring, and mixing various raw materials to achieve the desired nutrient formulation. BUILDING THE BAG

Identify the nutrient needs. Determine the specific nutrient ratios required (e.g., N-P-K: Nitrogen-Phos- phorus-Potassium) based on the soil, plant, or agronomic conditions. ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS Include any secondary nutrients (e.g., calcium, magnesium) and micronutrients (e.g., iron, manganese) if needed.

STEP NO. 1

Determine the Nutrient Requirements

+ Nitrogen Sources. Choose from sources such as urea, ammonium sulfate, or POLYON controlled-release products. + Phosphorus Sources. Include ingredients like monoammonium phosphate (MAP) or diammonium phosphate (DAP). + Potassium Sources. Common sources include muriate of potash (potassium chloride) and sulfate of potash. + Micronutrients + Additives. Consider adding micronutrients and other additives like humic acid.
