Harrell's Granular Fertilizer Guide

HOW DOES POLYON ® WORK? POLYON controlled-release fertilizer works through a patented technology that uses a reactive layers coating (RLC) and superior bonding properties manufacturing process to deliver nutrients gradually over a predetermined period.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

+ The predictable and consistent POLYON release

POLYMER COATING Each granule of POLYON fertilizer is encapsulated in a durable polymer coating. This coating acts as a barrier that controls how quickly water can penetrate the granule and begin the release process. MOISTURE ACTIVATION When POLYON controlled-release fertilizer is applied and exposed to moisture, water slowly permeates the polymer coating and dissolves the nutrient substrate. This interaction starts the nutrient release process. NUTRIENT RELEASE Once water dissolves the nutrient substrate a nutrient solution is created. The nutrient solution then gradually diffuses through the POLYON coating into adjacent soil for plant uptake. The release rate is controlled by the thickness of the polymer coating and air temperature. TEMPERATURE SENSITIVITY POLYON nutrient release accelerates as air temperatures rise, synchronizing nutrient release with plant growth. This ensures nutrients are available when a plant requires them the most. EFFICIENCY The POLYON controlled-release mechanism minimizes environmental nutrient loss through leaching and volatilization, providing a more efficient nutrient supply to plants over an extended period of time.

mechanism allows for fewer fertilizer

applications and reduces

environmental impact, making POLYON an efficient choice for turfgrass, horticulture, and agricultural applications.
