The firm opened the year with the closing of 394 beds at Bloomsburg University. This successful transaction solidified RRA’s place in the Mid-Atlantic student hous- ing market. The company is currently listing 850+ student housing units across Pennsyl- vania. PHILADELPHIA, PA — The environmental, energy, land use law and litigation firm of Manko, Gold, Katch- er & Fox (MGKF) was the first host and sponsor of the City Avenue Special Services District’s (CASSD) Lunch & Learn series. This program fo- cused on sustainability. MGKF partner Brenda Gotanda and COO John Kirk teamed up to present Building the Founda- tion for Sustainable Practices. MGKF attorney Brett Slen- sky offered insight on EPA’s Consideration of New Rule for Retail Hazardous Waste. The program took place on Thurs- day, April 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bala Cynwyd headquarters office of MGKF. MGKF Partner Jonathan Spergel has served on the CASSD board of directors since 2012. He commented, “Although sustainability has gained popularity and in- creased awareness in recent years, the concept has always been part of our firm culture.” Slensky’s portion of the pro- gram addressed EPA’s current efforts aimed at reconsidering how hazardous waste that is generated by retail establish- ments should be handled.
