PROMOTING A SAFER WORKPLACE THROUGH EDUCATION
OPERATIONS
Greetings: On behalf of the 61st Mayor of Atlanta, the honorable Andre Dickens, and the entire leadership team at Hartsfield Jackson, thank you for joining us for the 2024 Safety and Risk Management Expo. Safety is the organizing principle for all we do here at the world’s busiest and most efficient airport. Thank you for all you do daily to prevent injuries and keep our colleagues and customers safe and
out of harm’s way. By many measures, we’ve had a successful year in safety, security and risk management. One of the reasons for our success is that “safety always” is the hallmark of our culture. We maintain and strengthen this culture by providing the training, the tools and the clarity of roles and responsibilities required to always keep safety, security and risk management top of mind in all we do. I want to congratulate in advance the many award winners who will be recognized today. These awards cover many facets of our work. They are intended to affirm the work and personal initiative you and your colleagues have taken, oftentimes well beyond daily expectations. Today is also about education. I encourage you to take advantage of the many workshops that are offered. Continuing education opportunities like these are an essential way for you to stay aware of the best safety practices in our industry. We appreciate all you do to make Hartsfield-Jackson not just the world’s busiest airport, but also one of the world’s safest. Thank you and enjoy the program.
Jan Lennon Interim General Manager
