The George Farha Auditorium

Introduction

Opened in September 2016, The George Farha Auditorium (GFA) is at the heart of The Laboratory, and has quickly become central to the life of Dulwich College, as well as the wider community. In addition to serving as a state-of-the art venue for lectures, assemblies and formal presentations for up to 240 people, GFA offers a space for small recitals and informal drama productions, as well as events and dining for up to 80 guests. Two storeys high, the ground floor south wall is fully glazed with floor-to-ceiling doors leading out onto an expansive piazza. Clad with vertical timber fins, the upper floor is glazed on the north side allowing views of the Auditorium. The George Farha Auditorium has hosted the editor of the Financial Times , the Director of the National Gallery, the world famous “King’s Singers” of Cambridge, and the Chair of the Arts Council to name but a few who have commanded the lectern. GFA was a key venue in the Dulwich Literary Festivals in 2016 and 2017, as well as Dulwich Political Week, 13-17 November 2017. When the First Form 1957 recently held their 60 Years On Reunion, they asked if they could be the first to host their reunion luncheon in the bright, welcoming space.
