Strommen Ranch - Maternal POWER Angus Bull Sale [2/21/26]

Data Collection:

There are many viewpoints on how to correctly collect data and turn it into something useful for customers. Just because a breeder ‘collects data’ for maternal traits, doesn’t make his or her cowherd inherently maternal. Merely ‘collecting the data’ does not make every female on a ranch genetically superior for maternal traits as some breeders would like to suggest. Likewise, data collection for terminal traits (marbling, ribeye and fat) or performance traits (weaning and yearling weights) does not make cattle genetically superior in those areas. We believe data collection is important, but, even more important, is how that data is used in our herd - and in your herds. This is why we give our customers access to meaningful data you can use to make informed decisions. Making informed decisions is the only way meaningful genetic progress is made. We collect – and provide access to – data on traits our customers have requested. Let’s explore what we collect and why we give you access to it:
