OPPORTUNITY A SENSATIONAL SIMANGUS TM Each year we sit back and discuss what we need to do to make a better product for our customers to utilize. In the Spring of 2022 we made a major investment in the most influential Angus cow family in the world. We would like to thank Kelly Schaff and Kent McCune for helping us make this dream come true with the private treaty purchase of SAV Blackcap May 4136D and SAV Blackcap May 6644. I can still remember the day I saw 4136 at TransOva Yackley Division and I thought she was the best cow I had ever seen. She was just a young cow then and after that she went on to become the most influential and high-income generating cow in the beef business. She went on to produce the world record breaking flush of bulls SAV President, SAV Raindance, and SAV Rainfall. We have used all three of these bulls in our program with much success. You will notice many bulls in this sale from daughters of these bulls. SAV Blackcap May 6644 is the “one of a kind” flushmate sister to that flush of bulls and went on to be the top yearling weight heifer of that SAV calf crop. 6644 has 23 daughters retained in the SAV herd and 166 progeny have sold at SAV for a $13,613 average. She most notably produced SAV Panther, the 2022 $350,000 SAV top seller. The flushmate sisters to these bulls will highly impact our program going forward. These cattle are better than we had ever imagined! The shear mass and density they consistently exhibit is like nothing we have seen before. This is the second crop of this same flush mating from our 2024 sale going to Tim Wilken, Adam Wright, Heim Ranch, and Cully Stafford. Two full sisters to these bulls stole the bred heifer show last year commanding $40,000 to River Creek in Kansas and $38,000 1/2 interest to King Cattle Co in Indiana.
