Next is an all-day ben- efit spectacular Sept. 29 in partnership with la Club Optimiste de St-Pascal-Baylon. It starts with a walkathon-bikeathon at École du Rosaire in the village, with a light snack for participants. In the evening is a concert featuring both local musicians and per- formers like Arc-en-son and Héloise Yelle, and the country band, Cowboy Maze. Highway 417. Police highway patrol caught up with the wrong-way vehicle stopped along the side of the highway. A first-time driver from Rockland may see his licence lifted for awhile following police investigation of an accident on St- Jean Street in Rockland on Sept. 15. A grey Chevrolet van collided with a house on the corner of the street. The 25-year-old driver of the van is charged with impaired driving, driving with a plus-80 blood-alcohol content, being a novice driver with blood-alcohol content above zero, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and also possession of narcot- ics. He is scheduled to appear in provincial

court Oct. 10. Limoges was the scene for two drunk driving cases on Sept. 16. The OPP Rock- land station answered a call about a car in the ditch on Highway 417. A 22-year-old Kanata man will be in court Oct. 10 on an impaired driving charge. An OPP officer from the Embrun station was on patrol through the village when he stopped a vehicle on suspicion. He detect- ed the odour of alcohol and brought the driver in to the station for testing. A 31-year-old Ottawa man will be in pro- vincial court Oct. 10 fot impaired driving, driving with a plus-80 blood-alcohol con- tent, and driving with a suspended licence.

Russell County | The second week of Sep- tember proved a busy time for the OPP highway patrol in Russell County. A 31-year-old Ottawa woman will be in provincial court in L’Orignal Sept. 26 to face charges of impaired driving, driving with a blood-alcohol reading exceeding 80 milli- grams, and dangerous driving after police answered a series of 911 calls on Sept. 12.
