Precautionary statements
:
Prevention: Obtain special instructions before use. Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Keep container tightly closed. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. Use explosion-proof electrical, ventilating and lighting equip- ment. Use only non-sparking tools. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Do not breathe dust, vapors or spray. Wash skin thoroughly after handling. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Contaminated work clothing must not be allowed out of the workplace. Wear protective gloves and eye protection. Response: IF ON SKIN (or hair): Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/ shower. IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Call a POISON CENTER/ doctor if you feel un- well. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. IF exposed or concerned: Get medical attention. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical attention if symp- toms persist. If eye irritation persists: Get medical attention. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. In case of fire: Use dry sand, dry chemical or alcohol-resistant foam to extinguish. Storage: Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Keep cool. Store locked up. Disposal: Dispose of contents and container to an approved waste dis- posal plant.
Other hazards Spray application of refractory coatings can result in inhalation exposure to the coating compo- nents, including crystalline silica (quartz), zircon, and solvent vapors, unless effective controls are employed. Refractory coatings may contain crystalline silica in a finely divided state. Dry product residues can potentially yield hazardous airborne concentrations if disturbed. This product contains trace amounts of the Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORMs) uranium and thorium. Chronic inhalation exposure to uranium and thorium may cause lung can- cer.
