6. MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION & TRACEABILITY
• Record batch/lot number on Work Order, traveler, and traceability logs
Cross-reference batch to SDS and COA
•
• Store coating in designated, labeled area per SDS
• Do NOT commingle batches unless Engineering approves in writing
7. PRE-APPLICATION PREPARATION
7.1 Mold / Core Surface Preparation
Verify all surfaces to be coated are:
Dry
•
Free of loose sand
•
Free of oil, moisture, or foreign material
•
Clean surfaces using:
Dry brush (refractory-rated)
•
Low-pressure compressed air (<30 psi)
•
Vacuum as required
•
Reject and re-clean any surface showing contamination.
7.2 Coating Preparation
Verify correct coating prior to use:
Confirm label reads JetKote 400 Q
•
Verify batch/lot matches Work Order
•
Confirm product is within shelf life
•
Container handling:
• Place container on stable surface in ventilated area
Open container slowly
•
