Major Cities Comparison The following graphs are a comparison (January - September 2024 and 2025) of Fort Worth (population of 1,011,238) to benchmark cities with either a similar population or proximity. Data through December will be available in the next quarterly report. Comparable cities with their population noted in parentheses include: San Antonio, TX (1,495,295), Dallas, TX (1,360,000), Austin, TX (979,882), El Paso, TX (678,958), Columbus, OH (915,427), Charlotte-Mecklenburg, NC (935,017), and San Francisco, CA (767,968). The population data source is the U.S. Census Bureau. Crime offense com- parable data source is the Major Cities Chiefs Association. The offenses compared include homicide, rape (NIBRS offenses 11A, 11B, and 11C), robbery, and aggravated assault.
