We love it.” Also in Tilsner’s arsenal is the aforementioned mini, a Martin 628 FFG, on which the company did a computer upgrade, added a die cut section, and put a robot in front of it because they didn’t have room for a prefeeder. In total, the company employs about 110 and the production floor runs two shifts five days a week, with overtime stretching to two 10-hour shifts a day. Moving Forward Tilsner Carton, the company that smartly invested in used equipment in the late 1980s eventually replaced it with newer, faster machinery to remain competitive. Now it is replacing that equipment with even newer technol- A Kawasaki robot named ‘Izzy,’ nicknamed after Tilsner’s founder Isadore Tilsner, was installed in front of the Martin 628 FFG.
