NORFOLK , VA — Mi- chael B. Divaris , president of Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE) , announced the sale of the former BB&T Bank Building located at 6137-6145 Sewells Point Rd. in Norfolk, VA. The 8,080 s/f building was purchased for $300,000 and was financed by TowneBank. Lonely Properties, LLC , purchased the building to operate as a pawn shop. The sale was handled on behalf of the seller, Branch Banking and Trust Company, by Da- vid Bickford of the Virginia Beach office of Divaris Real Estate. Following a debate in Nor- folk’s Norview area to attract retailers, Bickford and local property owners held a series of meetings at Norview High School to discuss the removal of the Pedestrian Overlay Dis- trict zoning laws. Eventually, the City of Norfolk Zoning De- partment supported changing the designation.
