LINKING AND LEARNING Stories from the Ground

The Voice grantees and rightsholders are the enablers of the platforms offered by Linking and Learning. They have varying stories to tell about their experiences, and based on their stories, they felt the safe environment (physical and psychological) that YGOAL sought to provide in every activity. And given their stories and feedback, this was successfully achieved.

The following are compilations of the voices of the grantees and rightsholders about their Voice lives and real experiences as they implemented their projects and participated in various linking and learning activities.

It is YGOAL’s hope that their voices inspire and motivate the readers as much as it did them.

Building the Voice PH Community “ “

We are very happy to be part of Voice Linking and Learning. Through the activities we can expand our network and linkages and deepen our connection with our fellow grantees and rightsholders. We see the relevance of our Voice Linking and Learning activities in our situation.” - Cindy Soler, MTWRC We are very happy that there is the Linking and Learning component in the Voice grant. For us, this is an opportunity to connect and interact with fellow grantees and rightsholders. This is also an opportunity to learn.” - Anthony Marzan, KAISAHAN We were able to meet with the other groups and learn from their experiences. The Linking and Learning events and activities also helped us expand our network which was significant since our network of contacts before joining Voice is limited.”

Trust-building was a major challenge because grantees joined the Voice community at varying stages of program implementation. But in time, and with all the efforts exerted by the Voice implementation team to build trust, significant progress was made. The opportunities opened by the Linking and Learning process built a level of understanding and trust among the grantees and rightsholders, making them feel more at ease and confident to share, dialogue, and learn from one another.” Voice is very instrumental in pushing for our advocacy. Through Voice, you are given an opportunity to do your advocacy. Our project in Voice has ended but the impact of our intervention remains.” - Toots Riva, Gayon
