Woven Dreams - YGoal

“ “

Connecting and engaging with other people can help us in coping with the pandemic.” – Chantal Crisostomo, Metro Manila Pride

Inclusion

“ “

Voice was the only funder that gave grants for beneficiaries who are Persons with Disabilities. Thank you Voice for giving us the opportunity, especially the children, to speak out. We learned a lot. We feel motivated. We found a family here Thank you YGOAL and VOICE because you invited the Agta (indigenous people) group from Aurora province. I have learned so much and I was able to widen my aspirations in continuing the fight for the betterment of Indigenous People from Aurora regarding their respective rights. I am appealing to you that you (YGOAL and VOICE) continue to help us in financing our [activities] on organizing and strengthening our Indigenous People because I believe that this was the way to unite each other in fighting for our rights.”

We used storytelling as a facilitation technique as learned in Linking and Learning, to better explain the new normal way of doing things and for cascading learnings on the community and grassroots level.” It is a big help for us who are working from far flung areas in Mindanao. The Linking and Learning modules and other materials greatly contributed to our work, especially in taking care of ourselves and the children who are our clients. We also became more efficient due to the learnings we gained from the linking and learning modules.” – Child Alert Mindanao Linking and Learning changed the way we see disability. That despite the impairment, we were made to understand that they (persons with disabilities) still have the ability and capability to do much. And linking them to networks empowers them and amplifies their voice. The Linking and Learning helped a lot in building self-esteem.”

“ “ “

It helps to enhance my knowledge and attitudes towards LGBTQI… they deserved to be respected.”

I was reminded of how the public threaten / address / call persons with disabilities and how we should respond. “ Our engagement with Voice Linking and Learning activities are very helpful in pushing for our advocacy. Through the different initiatives, we can gain knowledge and skills that are useful in our organization. We felt the help and support of Voice in these trying times. We are not alone.” - Representatives from ULIKID, KAISAHAN, and LCDPFI

Linking and Learning developed activities on disability, inclusive policy, and capacity building. These were made possible by the sessions held with the National Society of Parliamentarians which taught us how to lobby, hone our negotiation skills, and policy advocacy on disability employment to be inclusive. This opened doors to conduct sensitivity

trainings with DOLE, NCDA, DILG, and TESDA.” “LCDPFI was able to create the employers’ disability network with the cooperation of various groups and to promote RA 10524 – an act expanding the positions reserved for persons with disabilities.” “

Our journey with Voice has amplified our impact on society. Learnings from Linking and Learning Activities are applicable to our context on the ground. Because of Voice, we are able to encourage the youth to initiate change.” - Charles Mangga, SLMI Collaborator
