Moving forward, since a number of grantees have gone through the basics of the trainings provided by Linking and Learning, though these trainings can still be retained for future new grantees and those who missed it, perhaps the grantees whose expertise and skills have been successfully developed could provide a leveled-up capacity strengthening on their areas of expertise. The grantees can be transformed into resource persons themselves to continue the linking and learning.
Even if there are varying concerns and issues, if all sectors will unite, help each other, and work together for what they believe is worth fighting for, the goal for a better Philippines can be achieved.
Below are some stories from some of the grantees on how they envision the Voice PH community to be even beyond the Voice grant:
“Continue what YGOAL has started in terms of the social media groups and pathways.”
“The network should be proactive in finding resources to sustain the community. It may even move towards a consortium type of management.”
“Several Voice grantees are certain to continue operations beyond Voice. They already formed a ready community to invite or share advocacies for greater reach and support.”
“That even beyond Voice, groups and organizations would proactively and continuously work together or help each other and sustain the relationships they have established.”
Below are excerpts taken from The Larger Story woven together by YGOAL based on the sharing of grantees about starting their stories beyond Voice during the Voice 2021 Linking and Learning National Summit.
Through the Voice project, we have started a movement with active leaders in the advocacy work. The goal of expanding the reach, including the excluded, and even further strengthening the movement does not depend on the shoulders of the leaders alone but more so on the community that has been formed. The work of collaboration within the confines of the Voice project should now start to illuminate further and beyond, even after the Voice funding period has ended. We the empowered rightsholders envision a community with much resiliency and has the mechanism and enthusiasm for sustainability. We have thrived even at the darkest and most challenging times of our existence by surviving the pandemic. We commit to continue, we commit to hope, and we commit to rise above the situation. Most of all, we commit to develop a community where inclusion is not a right we have to work for but a right duly recognized. Today, we see the sun with much faith in humanity as we all paved the way for the next generation of advocates, of youth leaders willing to continue the journey. Our mission is anchored towards our common story and experience of being part of Voice, cemented with the reality that we took a path of a road less travelled.
