Social Movement Building: Assistance on Community Based Organizations to formally register as accredited organizations and be able to represent the LGBT community in all aspects of local governance; almost all members of the LGBT network are now working to comply with the SEC registration and local governments units’ accreditations and re-accreditations to obtain and maintain membership to different local special bodies and to the development councils in their respective municipalities and cities. Additionally, it also achieved the following results: • CSOs increasingly participating in or initiating influencing and advocacy efforts to protect and widen civil society space. • Organizations supported with means (financial, knowledge, skills, networks, training etc.) to strengthen capacity in specific areas. • Informal groups / organizations presented their collective demands to external stakeholders, indicating increased confidence to raise their voice. • Informal groups indicate to have safe spaces to convene and work.

• Change agendas developed and facilitated by program staff and grantee organization. • Change agendas funded and implemented by marginalized and discriminated groups. • Organizations that incorporated new approaches in realizing their agenda for change.

IDU CARE 21 Title of Project: Spirit

Aksi Keadilan Indonesia (Action for Justice Indonesia; AJI) is an informal network of civil society and community-based groups that shares a mutual vision in providing access to justice for vulnerable people, especially women who use drugs. The network is bound by the principle of equality under the law as a foundation of justice for all Indonesian communities. AJI is an organisation that provides legal assistance through the work of pro-bono and paralegal lawyers, and non-legal people who have contextual knowledge related to the cases being handled. AKI is working in a consortium with the following organizations from their respective countries: AJI as the lead applicant from Indonesia; Asia Catalyst, registered in Thailand, as their fiscal host of this project; IDPC as the regional coordinator and technical advisors to the project partners; IDU care in the Philippines; and Health and Opportunity Network in Thailand. Rightsholders from Malaysia and Cambodia are organized through informal groups. Asia Catalyst Foundation is a non-profit civil society organization with the mission to train leaders of community-based organizations to run effective, sustainable, and democratic organizations, and to conduct rigorous human rights research and advocacy across Asia.
