TRI-PEOPLE YOUTH FOR CHANGE (TRY-CHANGE) 42

Title of Project: Raising Voices of the Bangsamoro Young Women

Tri-people Youth for Change (TRYCHANGE) was created in 2012. The membership is composed of different groups of people – the indigenous peoples, Bangsamoro, and migrant settlers. There is currently a total of 80 members from Cotabato City, and provinces of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat. Although there is diversity among the members, the organization is still able to maintain the relationship and solidarity among members. TRYCHANGE engages in campaign and advocacy activities on human rights, peace, and environmental protection. It also works on issues affecting the youth such as education, security, and livelihood. Raising voices of the Bangsamoro Young Women project enhances the political participation of the Bangsamoro young women in the new Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) through strengthening their capacities to raise their voices and perspectives on political issues affecting the youth sector. The project builds the capacity of the Bangsamoro Young Women on political participation in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM); strengthens the advocacy campaign of Bangsamoro Young Women; and establishes networks and alliances among potential tri-people women organizations and communities.
