Our Featured Artist: Maria Arvayo is a native Arizonan and local Tucson painter and teacher. She is a life-long artist and works in various media including; oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and encaustic. Her work is inspired by her love of the Sonoran Desert region and includes

Maria has a studio in midtown, teaches art classes at her studio and at The Drawing Studio and shows and sells her work locally participating in local markets, festivals and open studio events.

The Drawing Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, creative learning organization that brings art and the benefits of creating art to the entire community. The Drawing Studio offers affordable fee-based and free classes and workshops, hosts events and exhibits, and fosters awareness of the positive effects of creativity on individuals. The mission is to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to embrace art practice as a pathway to personal growth and a healthy community. PCOA and The Drawing Studio proudly partner to feature original work by older artists in Pima County in Never Too Late , celebrating and showcasing the creativity of older adults in our community.
