FYLDE U14S TOUR TO EDI REPORTBYGARYMELLING

v Watsonians in the Scottish Premiership with parents enjoying the bar and meeting a number of Accies fans who have links to Fylde both on and off the pitch, past and present. Sunday we then played a 60min game versus Boroughmuir RFC who are seen as one of the best teams in south Edinburgh. We won 86-21 (Will H(4), Tom C(3), Monty(2), Harry R, Jack, Blake, and Harry Mc; Cons: Henry F(9/11) and Lukas(2/2) ) Great tour both on and off the pitch enjoyed by both the lads and parents (whether the parents can remember much after two nights on the drink is another matter!). Great hosts across the three clubs also. Photos attached and to help identify teams: Currie: black/gold; Royal High: black/white; Boroughmuir: green/blue

We started the tour by watching a large contingent of the Scotland team play for a winning Edinburgh team versus a poor Newport Dragons in the URC on the Friday night with a few beers for the parents and lots of selfies with the players afterwards for the lads. Then on the Saturday morning we played Currie Chieftains RFC in a 30min game winning 38-7 (Tries: Nathan, Monty, Tom C, Tom B, Manny and Will H; Cons: Henry F(3/4), and James W(1/2) ). We then played a second 30min game versus Royal High RFC. However, this team was supercharged with a number of lads from the North Edinburgh Vikings RFC (Vikings are a squad of generally the best players in north Edinburgh so a real test for us). We won that 21-7 (Tries: Monty(2) and Will H; cons: Henry F(3/3) ).

Then onto watch Edinburgh Academicals
