In the waning glow of August, an invitation hangs in the air, reminding us to enjoy the magic of quiet nights on a front porch, night time dips in the ocean, and evening walks with loved ones. Each step becomes a chance to cherish the dwindling daylight, encouraging us to slow down and savor these simple pleasures before they become distant memories. This month, we’re excited to introduce you to the Schatzman Family and hear their story, dating back several generations. We also learn about the Morro Castle, the cruise ship that caught fire in 1934 off our local coastline, and how residents of Spring Lake were among those that provided much needed help and assistance to survivors. In keeping with the theme of those that are there to help when the sirens sound, we’ll also hear from The Spring Lake First Aid Squad and learn more about their services and community involvement.
