ACCESSIBILITY

For many of us, cooking is a chance to get creative, try new flavours and enjoy time with loved ones, as food really does bring people together. For some though, following recipes can be tricky due to different factors.Tesco’s new Now We’re Cooking initiative, which launched in May 2026, aims to change that – by making cooking at home easier, more inclusive and more enjoyable for everyone BRINGING ACCESSIBILITY TO THE KITCHEN, BECAUSE EVERY LITTLE DOES HELP!

Recognising that people access information in different ways, Tesco has introduced a range of formats to suit a variety of needs. Recipes are available in accessible digital formats, audio versions and Braille, while voice-assisted technology can provide hands- free support in the kitchen. Recipes designed for everyone At the heart of this initiative is a collection of popular recipes that have been adapted to be more accessible. The instructions have been carefully reviewed to make them clearer and easier to follow, with straightforward language, detailed timings and practical guidance throughout. The goal is simple... to help remove barriers and make cooking a more enjoyable experience for everyone. It includes: • 100 adapted recipes designed to meet accessibility standards • Audio, Braille and accessible e-book formats • Tesco Kitchen where you can watch with BSL (British Sign Language) • Accessible cooking aids Helpful kitchen solutions The initiative goes beyond recipes, with a selection of accessible cooking aids designed to make everyday cooking tasks easier. From preparing ingredients to serving meals, these products can help improve comfort, control and condence in the kitchen.
