GLOBAL PAYROLL MAGAZINE

The trigger was the belief that the market was changing, and there was and still is a need for a commercial off the shelf integrated global payroll solution. We have had to overcome the ‘not invented here stances’ initially taken by businesses and those saying but we are different. A journey that we have won through by just delivering the best we can do for this market. We have achieved this by ensuring our applications have features that are built in and not just bolted on. GPA: This issue goes live at Halloween so we’re exploring some ‘scary’ aspects of global payroll. What have been some of your clients’ biggest fears when they have approached you for help and how have you assuaged them? Kevin: A client is putting their trust in what you have said you can do, not until it is live can they really tell or see if it is working for them. Along our journey, we have had several pivotal moments all revolving around the ‘go live’ with enterprise businesses where there has been a requirement for something new. We have immersed our people with the partner and client “A client is putting their trust in what you have said you can do, not until it is live can they really tell or see if it is working for them.”
We are approachable and always willing to engage in discussions with any part of a client’s business to learn about their needs. Innovation is sometimes an overused word, we would say we are always looking for the creative approach to resolving a problem through technology and hopefully, we are achieving it. GPA: Is it true that the IPPEX Global journey began in a café? What triggered the conversation that prompted you to set out on your own? Graham: We often say we have offices in every town…. coffee shops everywhere. It all started from many discussions over a coffee, we were aware that many of the players in the market were operating on homegrown systems or bolted together from a variety of commercial applications. These solutions led to inefficiencies, security risks and a high level of maintenance.
