project teams, holding our business to account for outcomes relating to our platform. The client’s fear is of failure and our role is to communicate clearly, to mitigate the risks and focus on the deliverables and reassure everyone that we can deliver. Finally, we need to find some time to celebrate success before the next client or deliverable is upon us. We have always worked closely with clients so they know that when new problems present themselves, we will be on the journey with them. GPA: How do you manage expectations if a client comes to you with a jumbo wishlist? Graham: We are always interested in shopping lists….our product roadmap is a wish list of client requirements. Our focus is on the current environment and their starting point and where does an organisation want to get to. In other words, what are they trying to achieve, what problems do they want to resolve and how? This naturally leads to the true requirements, which will determine if we are the right fit or if we can bring forward a roadmap item to satisfy the missing crucial components. GPA: Insights from payroll data are a valuable but underutilised resource. How can companies do better with the information they hold? Graham: We see that payroll leadership is growing, actively supporting strategic planning and working with their counterparts in

finance and HR to optimise the processes. This is changing the perspective of the cost of providing payroll to be an asset. Kevin: Typically, the biggest cost to a business is the wage bill and the cost of supporting the employees who make the business possible. Correct management of the payroll costs in relation to business performance can provide invaluable insight into the efficiency of the business. IPPEX Cloud supports business decision-makers with a wealth of insight and reporting capability to help manage the health of the business. We help educate and support businesses to make the best use of that asset and the information they have. . GPA: You continue to maintain a very hands-on approach with the company, even giving clients your mobile numbers! Why, for you, has that personal touch been so important? Graham: Our success has been based on our attention to detail, honing our platform to be the best it can be. The commitment and longevity of our clients has come from our communications and project engagements, building the trust and understanding between all parties. We recruit people into our business that share our culture and open communications so we can continue to have time to engage with our clients. We like to propagate a culture of working with friends rather than just a traditional customer and supplier relationship.
