POSSIBLE RISKS COULD COME OUR WAY

It’s Vital That You Begin Preparing Now

The back-to-school craze is ending since most of our children and grandchildren are again hitting the books in grade school or college. Likewise, I go back to school every year since I am a lifetime learner. Being a lifelong learner stretches and trains your mind to think about topics differently. It helps you develop informed opinions and conclusions about situations. You see the world from various perspectives while constantly thinking and obtaining information. I also enjoy learning because of my March to a Million. I need to stay updated with the latest financial news, history, and trends to serve my clients and positively impact their lives. The latest book I read that gave me a better understanding of what our future could potentially look like is Principles for Dealing With the Changing World Order: Why Nations Succeed and Fail by Ray Dalio. Dalio writes about major empires, including Dutch, British, America,

a fundamental financial change for our country, there is an important question you must ask yourself: Do you want to preserve as much money as possible for your family and future generations? Or do you kiss it all away?

and others. He discusses their successes and failures and how some of these empires collapsed. There are timeless and universal forces behind the changes of power, and Dalio uses these patterns to look into the future while offering advice on how we can prepare for what could lie ahead. As I was reading, I noticed that some of these economic trends that inevitably led to downfalls were predictable. Almost every empire had the same patterns and trends, and all failed in similar ways. Unfortunately, America shares some of these trends, and it’s scary to think about what our future could look like if we continue down this path. It isn’t a stretch to say that we won’t maintain the same level of wealth in this country that we have today. As a result,

“As a result, there is a real risk that we are coming up on an unprecedented confiscation of wealth from the combination of taxation and private enterprise. But not all hope is gone — if you’re prepared.”

Several legal and financial tools exist that you can use to preserve your wealth and minimize the potential risk on the horizon. But you need to act now because time is not on our side. It would take me at least several newsletters to explain the tools and strategies you can use during this time. So, if you’re interested in learning more about how you can prepare for the future, please give me a call. I will happily share strategies with you and develop a plan that works best for you and your family.

As I hit my 57th birthday at the end of this month, it leaves me seven more years to reach my goal of positively impacting one million lives. Helping you prepare for the unexpected, educating you on trends and possible hardships, and ensuring your family is ready are only a few of the many ways I aim to impact your lives. As of today, my team and I have positively impacted over 355,000 people. The March to a Million is still on its way!

there is a real risk that we are coming up on an unprecedented confiscation of wealth from the combination of taxation and private enterprise. But not all hope is gone — if you’re prepared. This is one of the reasons why I’m out on my March to a Million. I want to educate others about what’s happening and create awareness of issues that could arise. I want to positively impact your lives by sharing this knowledge and implementing strategies and solutions to help you preserve your wealth. In light of what could be

How long have you been working at the law firm, and what do you do here? I started working for DuPont & Blumenstiel in 2017 at the front desk. Since then, I have transitioned to working more directly with the attorneys and clients on estate plans. My day usually consists of many meetings with our clients. I help out with all aspects of the estate planning process, from the very first meeting to the signings. I’m also responsible for many back-office duties including HR, accounting, and staff training. What is the most rewarding part of your job? I find it very rewarding to be able to help families every day that are having a hard time. Sometimes people don’t like to come here because they think estate planning is scary. Other times, especially during probate litigation, people come to us after a tragedy has happened in their family. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to support them in whatever situation they might be in. STAFF SPOTLIGHT: JULIA DUPONT, CLIENT EXPERIENCE OFFICER

What would you say to someone hesitant about

creating an estate plan?

I would say: just get it done. A lot of times people are hesitant because they don’t want to think about what happens when they die. But it only takes a couple hours of your time to gain that relief of knowing that you have your documents in place should anything happen to you. It’s one less thing your family has to worry about.

I also want to let our clients know that there are many employers these days that offer legal services as part of your employee benefits. If that is something you have, I recommend that you take advantage of it. You can usually get a whole estate plan done for very low cost to you.

Are You Prepared for This Possible Risk? A Recession Could Happen in the Future

3. DOES THIS CHANGE MY RETIREMENT OR INCOME PLAN?

Most of us remember the Great Recession we experienced in 2008. Many people lost their jobs and homes because of it. Although the United States is currently not in a recession, it is a risk that could happen in the future. You may feel stressed and have concerns about what the future could hold. However, working with a financial advisor is one of the best ways to prepare. Here are three questions you need to ask your financial advisor before a recession. 1. WHAT IS THE STRATEGY? Before you can do anything, you need to have a plan. Work with your advisor and develop a plan on what you need to do with your money. Although problems may arise, there is always room for opportunities. Ask your financial advisor about available opportunities and how to incorporate them into your plan. 2. WHAT DOES THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE? Although no one can predict the future, you still want to discuss the different possibilities that could happen. If there are various avenues you can take while planning, ask your advisor what the possible outcome could be for each strategy. But you don’t want to hear hypothetical answers. Instead, ask what concrete tools your advisor offers to handle a recession. How can they help you preserve your wealth?

Besides implementing a strategy, asking about how this changes the

plan you already have is essential. Even during a recession, you still want to keep your retirement and income goal in mind and continue to pursue it. You might have to adjust your plans, but a good advisor can ensure you stay on course. Your advisor can evaluate various options and see which will give you the best possible outcome and help you boost your savings. If you have any questions about how to better prepare for a recession, contact your friends at DuPont Wealth Solutions. We will be happy to look at your goals and devise a plan that best suits your needs. Although this can be a scary time, we will guide you through the storm and ensure you are taken care of. Please give us a call so we can begin preparing for the future! Want more information on how to weather a recession and how to utilize your advisor if one occurs? Here are some other destinations that offer similar sights and activities! STANLEY, IDAHO If the mountains are calling your name, then Stanley, Idaho, is the place to go! About three hours northeast of Boise, this gem has three different mountain ranges: the Sawtooth, Lost River, and White Cloud. This trifecta is home to whitewater rafting, hiking, sightseeing, rock climbing, mountain biking, and exploring. While there’s tons to see and experience during the day, the beauty doesn’t stop at night.
