the $1,500,000.00 asked for, as is also the cost of maintenance o f the school for the period o f the campaign. Released from the crushing burden of the interest on its debt, the school would find its running expenses easily procurable. Period of Payments: The plan of the “ Go Forward” Campaign is that pay ments may be spread over a period of thirty-three months from October 1, 1937, to the “ Great Day o f Release,” June 1, 1940. Amounts to be pledged are usually .payable monthly (though single gifts are welcomed) and are generally payable in multiples of $1.00 monthly, thus at tracting the widest number of friends. Financial Freedom Certificates: A Financial Freedom Certificate will be granted to each donor who makes any single payment or series o f payments of $33.00 or more during the period of the campaign. These certificates are conveniently provided with thirty-three dated coupons which can be clipped and mailed with the remittances. It is hoped that each participant will include all back coupons with the first payment, though back payments may be paid at any time within the pledge period. Schedule o f Certificates: No Finan cial Freedom Certificate will be issued for less than $33.00. For smaller pledges or gifts, our Honor Roll is still in effect. The table below shows the monthly pay ments and par values on our nine series o f certificates. Special Certificates will be issued for gifts not conforming to this schedule.

552 pledges by individuals or groups. Among these 552 pledges, the total re sult in payments and pledges to that date was $38,335.50. The average sum promised in the 552 pledges is $69.44. Because of the gratitude in the hearts of the more than 15,000 students who have been trained free of cost in the day, evening, and correspondence schools through the years, there is reason to be lieve that this present campaign will be made known to hundreds of new friends who will respond with prayer and gift. The Institute’s present need, it is clear, is to secure actual decisions and definite pledges from the army o f individuals who have been benefited either directly or indirectly through its ministry. The Torrey Memorial Bible Conference I am asking that those attending our Torrey Memorial Bible Conference this year will pray that pledges aggregating not less than $50,000.00 be signed during these meetings. Each year, the Torrey Memorial Bible Conference is a time of grateful remembrance of what God has done through the founders o f the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. Even more, it is a time o f coming to the Word of God for messages that will upbuild the Lord’s people and give spiritual impetus to the supreme work o f soul-winning. Great as our financial need is, may we not put it first in our program. Rather, may we unitedly pray that the Lord may be glorified at Biola, primarily in a Spirit- empowered testimony to the Lord Jesus Christ, and second, in deliverance from the bondage of debt. The foregoing table shows various pledge amounts for which our Financial Freedom Certificates are issued. A t tached is a convenient application cou pon which I hope you will sign. Yours in His service, j L
