right hand (Heb. 12:2). Because of what He did while here, some day a mighty host will be caught up into heaven even as He was on this memor able occasion (1 Thess. 4:17). At that time “ this same Jesus” (11) will come again to see that not one o f His re deemed ones shall fail to enter into the final stages of salvation. Christ Leaves a Faithful Band (Acts 1:12-14) With the vision of Christ’s homego ing in their hearts, the disciples return ed to Jerusalem. They could never be quite the same again. The image of the glorified Lord was fixed in their hearts. It affected all their living. “ These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication.” Memory Verse: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world [age]” (Matt. 28:19, 20). The eleven disciples had been asked by their Lord to meet Him upon a mountain. Why were they meeting there? What was their Lord going to say or to do? When the disciples saw their Lord, some worshiped Him, but others doubted that it was truly He. The Sav iour came to them and said, “ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptiz ing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world [age].” This was, then, to be their Lord’s last meet ing with them upon the earth. To them He was leaving the task of preaching the gospel to all the world! They were to be His messengers, trusted with the most important message that was ever told. Could they obey His instructions? Not in their own strength, but He had also said, “ Lo, I am with you al way.” He would be their strength and their wisdom! Mark tells us that after Jesus spoke these words of command ment and assurance, “He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God” (Mark 16:19). The disci ples went forth to preach at once, and God made others know that their mes sage was true by permitting them to perform miracles in His name. Sometimes Christians are afraid to witness for their Lord for fear that they will make a mistake and say the wrong thing or cause others to become angry as they talk about thé Son of God. Remember, He who said, “ Go,” also said, “ Lo.” He is with His children con stantly to guide their thoughts and their words that their testimony might lead others to Himself. Helps for the Children Jesiis’ Last Command (Matt. 28:16-20)
