World-Class Facilities Embry-Riddle boasts a wide range of research and development facilities — many of which are one of a kind and built to support real-world research conducted by students, faculty, industry and government entities. FLORIDA CAMPUS The John Mica Aerospace & Engineering Innovation Complex (MicaPlex) houses multidisciplinary research labs, such as the Robotics & Autonomous Systems Facility, the Advanced Dynamic and Control Center and a high-performance computing facility. The MicaPlex brings students, faculty and industry together, facilitating collaboration from early research to marketplace. Adjacent to the MicaPlex lies our state-of-the-art subsonic wind tunnel. During her professional development journey, Bauernschmidt has worked for the U.S. House of Representatives Aviation Subcommittee as an air tasking order space operations intern for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and as a government affairs intern at Relativity Space. In her current position, she works as a range coordinator, who functions as a liaison between government regulatory agencies (like the Space Force and the FAA) and her employer.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Strong has leveraged a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, an M.S. in Project Management and a Ph.D. in Aviation to become a leader at the global aerospace giant, an achievement that highlights her abilities as an engineer, pilot, manager and human factors specialist. XAVIER CISNEROS Professional Aeronautics, B.S., ’97 MBA, Aviation, ’06 While on active duty, Cisneros earned his first degree from Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide Campus and a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics (now the B.S. in Aeronautics) in 1997. After landing his job with Hawaiian Airlines, he earned his second Embry‑Riddle Worldwide degree, a Master of Business Administration in Aviation, in 2006. Today, Cisneros works as a maintenance controller at Hawaiian Airlines headquarters in Honolulu.

After interning in corporate safety at Emirates Airlines, Rathi was awarded the opportunity to partake in the ISASI- Robertson Fellowship Program at Embry-Riddle, which gave him a full scholarship and allowed him to work in the Aviation Safety and Security Archives on the Prescott Campus. Since graduating as a distinguished graduate, Rathi is now a flight safety specialist for Delta Air Lines.

EUGENE PIK Aviation and Aerospace Sustainability, M.S., ’24 Pik works as the CEO at Mevocopter Aerospace, an aviation consulting firm focused primarily on cybersecurity and sustainability and aiming to empower aviation startups with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the increasingly complex landscape of the industry.
