Welcome to AAMI Victoria Derby Day – the opening day of one of the great racing carnivals in the world – Melbourne Cup Week. Cup Week has faced many challenges over its 160 year history - HITVIWWMSRWVIGIWWMSRWIUYMRIMRǼYIR^EǼSSHWERHHVSYKLXWERH[I have weathered all of these over that journey. COVID-19 becomes another, and it has forced us to re-imagine Cup Week as an “At Home” experience. Despite the pandemic, our millions of virtual racegoers will be thrilled to know that Flemington is here for us all at its brilliant best. The roses are blooming and the expansive gardens and lawns are looking spectacular. The track, painstakingly prepared, is ready to go and awaits the pounding LSSZIWSJWSQIȍȉȉXLSVSYKLFVIHLSVWIW[LS[MPPKVEGIXLIXYVJSZIVXLI four days.
