a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to promote youth development and community engagement in Mamelodi East. The Pitso Mosimane Foundation is committed to making a lasting impact and creating pathways for success for the youth in the community. Coach Pitso Mosimane has been vocal about the need for sustained investment in youth academies and coaching programmes to ensure that African football continues to produce world-class talent capable of competing at the highest levels globally. His advice to young people looking to follow his path and lead a successful and fulfilling sports career is that they should work hard and have a good work ethic. “If you want to be training in sports at the highest level, you have to have the background. We need to have credibility. Do what you love and do it well,” he said.

In addition to his tactical prowess, Mosimane is recognised for his advocacy for greater investment in African football infrastructure and grassroots development. This year, in partnership with the Mamelodi Local Municipality (Ward 23 Councillor, Mr Henrick Mashao), the Pitso Mosimane Foundation transformed an abandoned soccer facility in Mamelodi East into a thriving hub for youth development. Through collaborative efforts with the community, the foundation revitalised the soccer facility, providing a safe environment conducive for aspiring young athletes to hone their skills and pursue their passion for soccer. As part of the initiative, children from the community were invited to participate in trials for the Pitso Mosimane Football Club, offering them a unique opportunity to showcase their abilities and potentially become part of a prestigious soccer programme.
