Dear P7 students and families, Welcome to Lagan College. We are delighted that you are interested in finding out more about our integrated, inclusive and all ability school in south Belfast. We were founded over 40 years ago in a little Scout Hut beside the River Lagan. We are a family school, where students, regardless of gender, ability or religion, work together. One of our main strengths has been that students, staff, parents and the Board of Governors have a shared sense of purpose to be, intentionally integrated and peace makers. We are committed to learning excellence and providing the ‘best’ possible education in all senses of the word for every student. We endeavour to help each child to reach their academic and personal potential. We hope that this prospectus provides you with a sense of our integrated school community and the wide range of learning activities and opportunities that you can experience at Lagan College. We are very fortunate to have received new school facilities in 2013, which greatly enhanced the learning experience for our students. Our state of the art, facilities includes 2 Mac suites, a fitness centre, a recording studio and impressive library and study spaces. In January 2023 we will be officially opening our new Chaplaincy and Wellbeing Centre at the heart of our school. The experience at Lagan College spans from Year 8 to Sixth Form and we are extremely proud of our students who move forward to a range of exciting learning pathways at university, further education and in employment. We hope that you will consider becoming part of our Lagan College family in 2023, as we move forward into an exciting decade, as the flagship of integrated education in Northern Ireland.
