REMISSION OF CHARGES Where parents or guardians of a child or children in attendance at the College are in receipt of Income Support, then the child or children will be entitled to free school meals. Applications should be made online to the relevant Education Authority. The Board decides as to eligibility and notifies both parents and the College. The Board of Governors may also, at its discretion, remit all or part of the charges for the residential part of a course which is a required part of the curriculum of the school or at which attendance is required as part of preparation for a public examination.
Students journey on foot, by car and by bus from a wide catchment area, including: Bangor, Downpatrick, Ballynahinch, Carryduff, Newtownards, North, South, East and West Belfast, Lisburn, Moira, Dunmurry, Glengormley, Antrim, Holywood, Newcastle, Comber, Saintfield and Dundonald. Students who enter Lagan College this year and who live beyond a three mile radius may apply to the South Eastern region of the Education Authority to be considered for a free bus pass. Please contact Education Authority for individual advice or see the travel information sheet on the Admissions Section of our Website, which contains all the bus routes available. Miss Collins (Vice Principal) is responsible for travel arrangements by bus. Our students travel from city and country-wide routes, which encompasses P7 students from over 45 primary schools.
