On a procédé à l’inauguration officielle du tout nouvel aréna de Crysler diman- che dernier, lors du Carnaval de Crysler. Ce projet de construction a nécessité plus de 2000 heures de bénévolat et a coûté 600 000$. À cela, la Fonda- tion Trillium de l’Ontario a participé en octroyant 60 000$, le Plan d’action économique du Canada, 30 000$, six commanditaires majeurs, 10 000$, sans
Afin de souligner le début du nouveau semestre pour les élèves de la 9e à la 12e année et le début de la deuxième étape pour les élèves de la 7e et 8e année de l’École catholique secondaire d’Embrun, les élèves ont eu droit à un spectacle haut en couleur. Le magicien Vincent C était de passage à l’ESCE avec un spectacle époustouflantquin’alaissépersonneindifférent. Enprésentantdestoursaudacieux toujours teintés d’humour et de jeux de mots, ce magicien hors du commun a fait vivre des émotions à plusieurs. Au grand étonnement des spectateurs, Vincent C s’est amusé à faire passer une plaque de métal à travers divers objets dont un ballon et sa peau, ci-dessus.
oublier les nombreux donateurs de Crysler qui ont également participé monétaire- ment à la réalisation de ce grand projet d’aréna dont 95% du matériel qui entoure la glace est recyclé. Pierre Thibault, président du Centre communautaire de Crysler, a été le grand instigateur du projet de construction. Pour l’occasion, des dignitaires se sont déplacés afin de couper le ruban rouge. BROCKVILLE | The old Latin proverb of mens sana in corpora sano is the guid- ing principle behind the Upper Canada school district’s strategy for making sure students have healthy minds and healthy bodies. Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) Trustee Valerie Allen provided her colleagues with an update at their Nov. 27 meeting of the Living Well Charter project. The UCDSB program focuses on student mental health needs, issues, and services. The district has hired Russ Larocque to take the lead on helping draft a mental health strategy for the district. The strategy will identify strengths and weaknesses in the Upper Canada district related to stu- dent mental health needs. The overall goal of the Living Well Char- ter program is to select and support men- tal health promotion and prevention pro- grams that meet the needs of the district.
Ottawa-based psychiatrist Dr. Darcy Santor is working with the board in this area and his online magazine, MyHealth, is available to students.
