WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NETFLIX SHOW? Shannon O’Neill , Administration: “I don’t have a Netflix subscription, but I can recommend two shows available on Youtube: Black Books and Big Fat Quiz. Also, I do know that IT Crowd is available through Netflix.
Tom Jakob , Racquet Sports: “Tiger King, Wild, Wild Country, Portlandia, Documentary Now!, Parks & Recreation, The Pharmacist, and Ozark.” Ashle Wade, James River Dining: “Greys Anatomy, On My Block, Lucifer, The Haunting of Hill House, and The Witcher”
WHAT BOARD GAMES HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING? Erica Phillips , Fitness: “As a family, we have been playing a lot of games. Like Yahtzee and Sorry. As well as some card games like Skyjo, Dutch Blitz, and Uno Attack. We are a big game family.” Amber Irvin , Special Events: “We have done some board games, but not a lot. Trying to be outside in the yard a good bit too. My boys love Junior Monopoly mostly.”
Olivia Bowling , James River Golf: “I live with my younger sister and we have been playing Yahtzee, Guess Who, and card games! I also recently finished my back deck, so we have been having lots of morning coffee dates and happy hour out there!”
FEELING BUMMED? TRY THIS: Danielle Lewandowski , Youth: “Go on a walk or craft!” Ronnie Young, Support Services: “Doing yard work helps keep my head in the right place. Focusing on something that brings me satisfaction like getting my gardens weed free is a positive distraction.” Rod Coleman , Golf: “I limit my news exposure to 30 minutes in the morning and then no news exposure for the rest of the day. I spend my day outside working in my
yard, cleaning and rearranging my garage and playing with my dog. If I am inside, I find a good movie on a classic movie channel or find a show on a secondary channel; i.e. Discovery, Smithsonian, History, BBC, etc. I play games on the internet, several types of solitaire, backgammon, hearts, spades, cribbage, etc. I play word games on a dictionary website. I take the necessary precautions to avoid the virus and try to keep my mind on other things.” SELF-CARE TIPS: BY TAKING CARE OF OURSELVES, WE TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER.
Self-care is any activity that we do in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health. It could mean taking a 15-minute walk to stretch, painting a rock to clear your head, taking a meditation class, or perhaps enjoying a yoga session. Each activity can vary from person-to-person. What works for you?
