The test result Here are the results. How can that be? The individual fluff looks a lot bigger in the mushroom corn. It’s quite simple:The Americans count the kernels per 10 g. For mushroom corn this equates to 49, and 65 kernels for butterfly, or 16 kernels more. Mushroom kernels also lie closer together and butterfly kernels ex- pand more, due to their shape.
What does that mean for YOU? This means that from the same amount of corn, you receive 14 x 3L bags of mushroom corn,
but 19.3 x 3L bags of butterfly Popcorn.
Can you try it out for yourself? But of course! Simply pop the exact same weight in kernels and fill up! For our test we used 1.2 kg mushroom corn and 1.2 kg butterfly corn in a 48 oz machine. Of course, you can use any quantity you wish, depending on your device. Just please remember to weigh the kernels! Some promise big fluffs, but the Popcorn's volume is low! The fact is that butterfly puffs look smaller (we believe), but are almost 40 % larger and taste better (we believe). Mushroom puffs look cool (we believe), are firmer to the bite, but possess less volume. Of course you will receive the ideal recipe from us for each type of corn – the perfect recommended serving for consistently delicious taste. We feel that Pop- corn does not belong in plastic sacks. Corn is a wonderful natural product, should be packed in an environmentally friendly way, and should reach both us and you via the shortest possible route. Over 90 % of our corn comes from our neighbours in southern France, after all.
