College – Issue 42

“As a priest, I have a sense of God’s call in taking up this role, and a belief that there’s something God would have me do here.”

“The church is seen as highly irrelevant, and when it is relevant, it’s playing from a different tune.” Boys attending College today often have little grounding in Christianity, yet Cameron says the future of the church is our young people.

“It’s a challenge that I accept. This position feels like a really good fit. I count my blessings – it feels right.” Born in Blenheim, Cameron boarded at St Andrew’s College, studied at the University of Otago – including an undergraduate

degree in Theology – and taught in Southland. He taught at St Andrew’s College for many years, and then studied for two years at St John’s College in Auckland. He was ordained as a Priest in the Anglican Church when he was 40.
