The fa c t is th a t according to th e Word of God Israel will not. become possessed of the Prom ised Land un til the ‘‘times of the G entiles” shall cease. U ntil th a t event it ‘‘ shall be trodden down b f the Gentiles (Luke 21:24). The times of the Gentiles end when th e image, which Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream (repre senting Gentile world-power) is sm itten and destroyed by “ the stone cut out of th e mountain w ithout hands. ’’ T hat stone being Christ a t H is second coming, there will be no true ownership of Palestine by the Jew s un til th eir Messiah comes in power to give it to them. T hat this will oeeur in God’s time (may it come soon!) is as sure as th a t the Bible is God’s Word. In the meantime ;what is the program? The, world dominated by the Jew as planned in the Protocols? No. T hat scheme w ill fa il of fruition. The next g reat development—always allowing for the rapture of the saints first—w ill be the Scarlet Woman (all false religious sys tems amalgamated w ith Rome) on the B east (the A n tich rist), then the destruc tion of the Scarlet Woman by th e Beast (Rev. 17,::—). who as th e Emperor of the ten kingdoms (Roman Empire restored) will reign as autocrat and favor Israel in th eir land, bu t not to rule it, mueh less the world. There will come the finality of man-made religions when the A ntichrist will be worshiped as God. Israel refusing to conform will be persecuted as never- before. _ In the m idst of th eir distress (“ Ja c o b ’s tro u b le” ), their anguish-riven prayer for deliverance (see the 80th Psalm) w ill be answered by the sending of th eir once rejected K ing, who descend ing from heaven will deliver a faith fu l rem nant of Israel, and establish them in th eir land to remain in security through out the M illennial Age. The major and minor prophets abound w ith specific pre dictions of this happy fu tu re fo r God’s
chosen people. As to the land, Isaiah 62:4, “ Thou shalt no more be termed Eorsaken: neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: b u t thou shalt be termed Heph- zibah (my delight is in her), and thy land Beulah (m arried ): for the Lord de- ligh teth in th e e .” As to the people, Isaiah- 62:12, “ And they shall call them The Holy people, The redeemed of the L o rd .” As to the ruler, M icah 5:2, “ -But thou Bethlehem E phratah, though thou be little among th e thousands of Judah, y et out of thee shall he come fo rth unto me th a t is to be ruler in Israel: whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” NO M ISTAKE Some time ago a Christian m erchant met unexpectedly w ith some great losses. He began to doubt th e wisdom and goodness of th a t Providence which could allow such trials to overtake him. He returned to his home one evening in a despairing sta te of mind. He sa t down before th e open fire place in his library, tossed w ith the tempest of doubt, and destitute of com fort. P resently his little boy, a thought fu l child of six or seven summers, came and sa t on his knee. Over th e m antel piece was a large illum inated card con taining the words, “ H is work is p erfect.” The child spelled out the words, and point ing to them said, “ Papa, w hat does per fect mean h ere?” And then, before the fath er, who was somewhat staggered, could make a reply, there came another question from th e little p rattler, “ D o es-it mean th a t God never makes a m istak e?” This was ju st the thought th a t th e troubled fath er needed to have brought before his mind. I f the angel Gabriel had come down from heaven, he could nof have suggested anything more timely. The fath er, clasp ing his little one in his arms, exclaimed, “ Yes, my precious boy, th a t is ju st what it means.” T h at fa th e r’s confidence in God was revived, the cloud was gone, and the sunshine of an unfaltering tru st again lighted up his soul.
