The association will be sponsoring the Foundation’s high school and college competitions. The high school competition is a two-and-a-half- day event that includes five areas of rigorous test- ing including: operating a flexo press, prepress, platemaking, written knowledge, and flexo math skills. The college competition is a rigorous year- long program that culminates by students present- ing projects in front of a panel of industry judges. For 25 years, the Foundation has been facilitating programs to bring hands-on learning into the graph- ic communications classrooms across the country. The programs instruct students in the fundamentals of flexo printing and every year the competitions enable the schools to compete for scholarship dol- lars and recognition. Fedrigoni Acquires Divipa The Fedrigoni Group, a supplier of specialty pa- pers for packaging, publishing, and graphics, as well as premium labels and self-adhesive materials, has acquired Divipa, a Spanish company headquar- tered in Derio, a few kilometers from Bilbao, which develops, manufactures and distributes self-adhe- sive materials, with an estimated turnover of 24 mil- lion euro in 2021 and about 50 employees. Divipa was founded in 1971 by the Alvaro fami- ly, which has transferred 100 percent of the capital to Fedrigoni but remains in the management team with some of its members.
